Annabelle joins the lab as a post-doctoral fellow. She completed her PhD at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Prof. Monika Gullerova. Her doctoral work focused on the role of small non-coding Y RNAs and the RNA-binding protein, YBX1, in intracellular and intercellular responses to DNA double-strand breaks. In Sophie Polo’s team, Annabelle will be working on characterizing the role of BCL7 subunits of chromatin remodelers in DNA double-strand break repair in human cells, in collaboration with Elisa Bergamin’s group at the IGBMC in Strasbourg. In parallel, Annabelle will initiate a project to investigate the functional relevance of RNA modifications in the UV damage response.
