xiaoying.chen77@outlook.com

Xiaoying is from China. She obtained her first Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Health Statistics from Ningbo University in Zhejiang and finished her second Master’s degree in Genetics at Université Paris Cité in Paris. She was funded by EUR G.E.N.E. during M2 and joined Defossez’s lab in January 2021 for the Master’s internship. She is now pursuing in the team as a PhD student. Her academic interest focuses on the role of epigenetics in human cancers, intertwining with immunology. In the Defossez lab, she preciously looks at the short-term and long-term consequences of epigenetic regulators UHRF1 and DNMT1 disturbances using a cellular model and investigates the underlying mechanisms of induced cellular senescence phenotype. This project helps better understand how UHRF1 and DNMT1 work in cancer cells and also gives bases for new and better epigenetic therapies in cancer. https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=QHGiK1UAAAAJ&hl=en
