Charbel obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Lorraine in May 2020 where he worked on the molecular characterization of the lncRNA ANRIL.
Since September 2020, Charbel is an ANR-funded post-doctoral fellow in the Rougeulle Lab. His main project is to explore the degree of regulatory innovation and the diversity of X chromosome inactivation regulation across the primate order by using human, chimpanzee, and rhesus monkey embryonic stem cells as cellular models. In his spare time, Charbel enjoys practicing different types of sports and exploring new places.
